Working & The Beach Trip

I did a lot of exciting things this summer. I worked almost every weekend for people in my Church to earn money to go to Brazil. It was long hours but it brought our group closer together. We had a lot of fun working together and building our relationship as a team. We did a lot of prayer meetings to pray for our upcoming trip and my Youth pastor asked me if I would speak at one of the churches in Brazil. I was terrified. It's hard enough speaking in front of people in America but the thought of speaking to people through a translator scared me. Since he had prayed before asking me I agreed. I spent many days learning two messages called "Pressing In" and "4 Kinds of Faith." I took a week off to go to Myrtle Beach with my Mom, sister, Grandma, and Aunt Brenda. We stayed at my Aunt Brenda's condo. We had fun laying out on the beach, swimming in the ocean, shopping and eating. Even though I used 30spf sunscreen, I still had pretty bad sun burn after a few days. It was so great just to relax and de-stress for a week. In the morning time I would go with my aunt to walk her dog Abby. We took Abby on the beach and she was so funny hopping through the sand. One night we went to this really nice Sushi restuarant and I tried various different kinds of sushi. It tasted really good but unfortantely I really sick for the rest of the night. Needless to say I won't be having anymore sushi anytime soon. My favorite part of the beach was just hanging out with my family, making jokes and laughing together. My Grandma tried on this hat in the Bass Pro Shop and we laughed at her forever, she was definitely the funniest person on our trip. She is like a 10 year old little girl trapped in a 74 year old body, but that is why we love her. It was a really fun beach trip and I hope we can do a girls beach trip again next summer.

Things you should know about me...

I'm Jordan. I am from Thomasville, NC. I am a junior here at Montreat. I am probably not like anyone else you'll ever meet. I am very passionate about the things I care about! The most important thing you should know about me is I am passionate follower of Jesus Christ. I live to know him and to make him known. I feel like God has called me to be a missionary and that at various times throughout my life I will travel to other nations to share the gospel. I am very close with my family especially my younger sister Ashlin who truly is my best friend. I grew up in a Pastor's family. My dad pastored a Southern Baptist Church for all of my life up until this past January. He is now a full time evangelist. My home Church now is Grace Church. It is a charismatic, non-denominational Church. It is located in High Point, NC. I started going to Grace's youth group when I was fifteen years old and while continuing to go to my Dad's Church on Sunday mornings. I absolutely love Grace Church and have grown so much in my relationship with the Lord there through the years. Courage and Sandy Carr who are the youth pastors at Grace and very dear friends of mine, have been very instrumental in what the Lord has done in me through the last 6 years. So what am I all about? What am I passionate about? Clearly, I am passionate about my relationship with Jesus and sharing the Gospel. I am passionate about relationships with family and friends. I am passionate about Worship, music, and children. I am Pro-life and very passionate about protecting the unborn. I have included a picture that my friend Jacob Daniels painted. I like music a lot and a variety of different artists. I enjoy listening to an acoustic guitar. Mostly, I enjoy Worship music by artists such as: HillsongUnited, Misty Edwards, JesusCulture, Shane and Shane, etc. I also like Tyler Hilton, Colbie Callait, Taylor Swift, Corey Crowder, Switchfoot, etc. I really enjoy movies, the beach, coffee shops, jogging, and ice skating. I enjoy winter time. Christmas is my favorite holiday and I love the snow. I am really relaxed and just really love being around people and having good conversations. I tend to be a perfectionist about things such as school. I like to collect snow globes and Bibles (even though I end up giving most of them away). I included pictures of things that I love or am passionate about.
